For the second year, The Hope Center was able to continue our partnership with Central Middle School allowing us to impact 30 of their students. After years of making connections, we were able to extend our reach into the classrooms of Central High School. Impacting nearly 60 students in two CHS classrooms, Hope Center staff eagerly began facilitating and cultivating an environment for students to have fun, be engaged, and win prizes.
Teachers and administration, some of whom are also current and previous Hope Center volunteers, welcomed our staff into their classrooms. They participated in the activities and expressed gratitude for our staff being present. Our highlight, of course, was seeing former Central Middle students walking the halls of Central High smiling and excited to see familiar faces. This helped to confirm that the work we do at the Hope Center is helping to build relationships that make an impact in the lives of young people. The Hope Center staff will continue to be a positive influence and working to improve student engagement inside the schools on the East side of Kansas City.
